Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council Announces Series of Fall Tree and Shrub Plantings

Posted

Providence, RI, September 19, 2025 – The Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC) invites the community to take part in a series of fall planting events designed to restore habitat, replace lost trees, and strengthen the health of the Woonasquatucket River Greenway. These volunteer opportunities are open to all residents, families, and corporate groups who want to make a difference in their community.
"This is a great chance for neighbors to roll up their sleeves and make a visible impact in their community," said Kuno Haimbodi, WRWC Ranger Tree Specialist. "Every tree and shrub we plant improves air quality, provides shade, and helps support local wildlife."
