Thursday, October 17 from 6pm-8pm

Posted

Dear Families and DR students in Grades 7 & 8:

Please accept my invitation to our annual Green & Gold Night Open House showcasing the many diverse offerings at Dighton Rehoboth Regional High School. We look forward to you joining us on Thursday, October 17 from 6pm-8pm.

We are encouraging both 7th and 8th graders and their families to attend so feel free to carpool. Community members and staff are welcomed as well!

Please review the attached flyer, and here are a few quick “Frequently Asked Questions” below:

  1. Where do we park and enter? Guests will be welcomed at the Superintendent’s Entrance (across from Tennis Courts) beginning at 5:30. Opening remarks will be held in the Auditorium at 6:00pm.
  2. How long does it last? Because we have so many wonderful academic programs, CTE offerings, sports, arts, clubs, and activities to see, we recommend spending at least an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and a half. Many of our guests will stay the entire night. We are open from 6pm-8pm.
  3. What’s the attire? Casual and comfortable. Keep in mind, it’s never too early to wear your green and gold to show We Are DR!
  4. What will we see, and where will we see it? Guests will see several points of interest, including: AP Course informational sessions, Performing Arts, Music, Visual Arts, Core Academic Departments, Sports, 7 Career and Technical Education (CTE) shops, World Languages, and more! In addition, future Falcons will interact with current students to learn about student life, including opportunities for international travel, school and district leadership, student government, clubs and activities, peer leaders, and athletics.
  5. How can we experience CTE (vocational) programs? CTE instructors and students will welcome you to their shops where you will be treated to live demonstrations and have opportunities to learn how CTE programs give youth a competitive advantage in college and career choices.
  6. Where can we get more information? Check us out at www.DRRegional.org on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/DightonRehobothRegionalSchools/  , and Instagram @DRschools.
  7. Should parents/guardians attend? While we feel that the presence of parents and guardians is an important aspect of the partnership as well as the wealth of information that will be shared, it is not mandatory for an adult to accompany the student. However, parents and guardians can benefit from meeting teachers, coaches, parent volunteers, and our amazing students.
  8. What if we can't make it? Is there a makeup date? Unfortunately, no. This is such a large undertaking that we can only offer it once. The details in Question 6 above can help you get information.

Thank you for your consideration. We realize that this is a busy time of year, but your student’s transition to high school is one of your most important decisions. We look forward to the opportunity to show you our competitive edge and inspire the next generation of our DR Falcon Community!

Together, we are DR!
Bill Runey
Superintendent
