Spring with the Rehoboth Antiquarian Society

Posted

(REHOBOTH, MA) –

Members of the Rehoboth Antiquarian Society are welcome to join us at the Carpenter Museum (4 Locust Ave.) Saturday May 2nd from 1-3PM for this year’s members only event, What the Rebels Ate: A Colonial Hearth Cooking Demonstration.

The demonstration will be led by reenactor and hearth cooking enthusiast Stacy Booth. She will use our historic kitchen to make authentic 1700’s food for our members to enjoy. As she cooks she will lead us through the history of the meal she is cooking and what the colonists ate both on the field and at home. This will include a look at some local dishes. Attendees will have the chance to help cook as well as taste the prepared foods. We will be joined by the Rehoboth Minute Men.

Our Members Only Event is a thank you to the members of the Rehoboth Antiquarian Society and their continued support. You must be a member in current standing to attend. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required to ensure availability. Register by calling the museum at (508)252-3031 or by reserving a spot on Eventbrite: www.RASmembers.eventbrite.com

The RAS’s annual membership meeting will be the following Wednesday May 6th at Blanding Library (124 Bay State Rd.), 6:30PM. Come enjoy some tea and hear reports from the three pillars of the Society, the Blanding Library, Carpenter Museum, and Arts in the Village. A special guest speaker will end the meeting. Not yet a member of the Rehoboth Antiquarian Society? Membership starts at just $25 a year. Visit our website to join or learn more; www.rehobothantiquarian.org/join
