November News for Tweens & Teens
This month, we have the opportunity to learn hand sewing techniques to create a hand-made zip-up pouch! This is a two-session workshop led by local artist and sewing instructor Leslie Guglielmo, so make sure you are available for both dates--November 12 and 19. Our Make Your Mark whiteboards are still going strong, and we also have Rec Rack next to the self-checkout machines, a display shelf that needs your input! Just grab your book recommendation from its normal place on the shelf and place it on the display rack. If you want to leave a review for your selection, you can fill out a reaction slip and leave it in the book!

Hand-Stitched Zipper Pouch Sewing Workshop
Thursdays, November 12 & 19 at 3:00 PM
Local artist and certified sewing instructor Leslie Guglielmo will lead this 2-session workshop, teaching basic stitch techniques to assemble a useful, personalized zipper pouch. Participants will learn and master three distinct stitch styles--running (including basting), backstitch, and overcasting--to finish their seams and apply the zipper. They will have the opportunity to further embellish their pouches with personalized zipper pulls and sashiko patches. This class will include personalized instructions for each student to achieve fine stitching techniques with the opportunity to take home practice materials. No sewing experience is necessary and all materials will be provided. Participants are required to attend both sessions.

This 90-minute event is free and open to tweens and teens in grades 6 through 12. Registration is required at www.seekonkpl.org/events.
