Tales From the South.

Posted

I can hardly wait to get back home in the spring. I can’t wait to hear all the heavy-duty leaf
blowers blowing fresh-cut grass from one end to another. Seems a waste. It could be like
playing with a toy and bothering all your neighbors. I would like to share some information I
have been reading in the Providence Journal.

Gas powered leaf blowers are a public health nuisance for air and noise pollution that also
contribute to climate change. The city of Providence, RI is attempting to help landscapers and residents transition to quieter electric equipment.

Gas powered leaf blowers can reach dangerously high noise levels, often surpassing
thresholds set by the World Health Organization. Loud exposure can have adverse effects,
such as hearing loss and hypertension.

My wife and I are considering moving out of this neighborhood because of the noise nuisance.
It is a shame that neighbors cannot get together to express their feelings
