Preschool Storytime

Ages 3-5 At preschool storytime, children ages 3-5 are encouraged to engage with stories, sing songs, and participate in activities to spark curiosity and promote a love of books! Younger siblings are welcome too. Drop in.

Toddler Storytime

Ages 18-36 months This weekly storytime is designed for children 18 – 36 months old. The storytime will include reading a few books, followed by music, activities, movement, and yes, even bubbles! Drop in.

Babies Storytime

Ages 0-18 Months Babies, Books, and Belly Time. Baby Storytime is a program designed for infants ages 0–18 months. Bring a small blanket for your baby to sit on and enjoy a short story followed by music, fingerplays, and movement activities. After storytime, stay for a relaxed play session. Babies can enjoy belly time, which is great for building neck and shoulder strength, crawling through a tunnel, exploring toys, and looking through board books.  Drop in.

Xen’s Critters

All ages Xen's Critters is bringing a hands-on animal experience to the library! Step into a special animal corral where you will meet and pet friendly baby goats, sheep, bunnies, chickens, ducks, geese, and guinea pigs. Two sessions will be offered, and registration is required, so be sure to sign up early for this fun-filled event! In the event of inclement weather, the animal corral will be moved indoors. Register.

Homeschool Hangout
Friday, September 11 1:00 PM
All ages Join us in the meeting room to meet, play, and learn with other homeschool families! Activities and games for kids of all ages will be provided. Educators will have the opportunity ask reference questions or share resources with other home educators. Drop in.

Build it Crew!
Tuesday, September 15 4:00 PM
Grades 1-5 Build it crew is a Lego challenge and free play for grades 1-5. Each month, patrons will participate in a Lego build challenge. During the first 15 minutes, each participant will receive a Lego box. They will then have 3 minutes to create something that resembles a specific item or theme. Parents will judge whether the creation resembles the assigned item. For September the theme will be Things That Go. Register.

RISPCA Storytime

Ages 2-5 Join us for a special storytime with Heather from the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. We will learn about the SPCA, read a story, meet and animal ambassador, and do a craft! Best for ages 2-5, ages 0-5 welcome. Register.

Crafternoon in the Children’s Room

All ages It’s an early release day, and the children’s room has a craft for you to create! We have everything you need to make your very own DINOSAUR craft. All supplies are provided. Drop in.

Sensory Play

All ages Children and their caregivers are invited to explore a variety of toys and sensory-rich materials designed to encourage play and support the development of motor skills, memory, communication, and problem-solving. This program welcomes children of all abilities in a fun, friendly, quiet environment. Drop in.
