Kid Librarian of the Month July 1-31
Ages 7-12 Stop by the Children’s Room to fill out an application for the chance to become the Kid Librarian of the Month. The Kid Librarian of the Month is selected in the last week of the month, and their display will remain on display for the rest of the following month. If chosen, you will be contacted by email or phone. All applications will remain on file.
Summer Reading Challenge, Plant a Seed, READ!
June 24 – August 8
Pre-registration starts June 1
• Register at seekonkpl.beanstack.org or download the Beanstack app
• Log minutes spent reading.
• Set a reading goal. The challenge is to read for at least 20 minutes per day or create your own goal.
• Earn virtual raffle tickets for logged minutes.
• Complete activities and write reviews to earn more raffle tickets.
After 6 hours of reading logged, kids may pick out a little reward at the children’s desk. After registering, keep reading and visit the library weekly to participate in our guessing jar. If you have used the Beanstack platform before, there is no need to create a new account. If you need help resetting your password, contact childrens@seekonkpl.org
Colonial Kids

Ages 7+ Children and families are invited to travel back in time and experience what learning was like in early America. In this engaging and hands-on program, participants will step into a colonial classroom and discover how children learned reading and writing, played at recess, and learned life skills, like gardening, to help their families. This interactive experience combines storytelling, hands-on learning, and play to give children a meaningful glimpse into the past. Please register a spot for each person attending.
Baby Storytime

Ages 0 – 18 Months Babies, Books, and Belly Time. Bring a small blanket for your baby to sit on and enjoy a short story followed by music, fingerplays, and movement activities. After storytime, stay for a relaxed play session. Babies can enjoy belly time, which is great for building neck and shoulder strength, crawling through a tunnel, exploring toys, and looking through board books. Drop in.
Storytime in the Meadows – Camping

Blueberry Storytime at Osamequin Farm

Our annual blueberry picking at Osamequin Farm is always a berry good time! Farmer Sarah will read us some blueberry-themed books, teach us about blueberry growing, and then we head into the field and pick your own blueberries (one pint per family). Please register one spot per family.

Ages 7-11 Calling all graphic novel lovers! Join us in the meeting room for all things comic! Bring a graphic novel recommendation and we'll all share our favorites with the group. Then we'll create a comic book-style story of our own. Art supplies and snacks will be provided. Please register a spot for each child attending.
