Children's Book Sale June 9-11
There will be a sale of gently used books for children of all ages June 9-11 during library hours, or until all books are gone. $4.00/bag. Bring your own bag or get one here. Adults must be accompanied by a child. Check the library's calendar for times. This event is sponsored by The Friends of the Blanding Library.
Reading Challenge for Adults
The Blanding announces the Adult Summer Reading Challenge. Stop in for a bookmark to keep track of all the books you read from June 15 to August 15. Turn in your completed bookmark by August 15 and receive as many chances to win a prize as books you read. Drawing will be on Monday, August 17.
Book Bedazzling June 24
Come try your hand at this popular and fun craft on Thurs. June 24 at 6:30. Bring a paperback book of your own to bedazzle. All other materials will be provided. Space is limited so call the library to register.
Two groups that meet at the library will be taking the summer off. The weekly history discussion group led by Hank Coleman will take a break this summer and resume meeting at 11 on Wednesdays in September. The monthly Knit Night at the library will not be meeting this summer and will also resume in the fall. Monthly book clubs will continue through the summer.
Summer Garden Science July 8
The Children's Museum in Easton will be offering Summer Garden Science. on Wed. July 8 at 11 for children K through grade 4. Space is limited so call ahead for reservations. Sponsored by the Rehoboth Cultural Council, a local agency supported by Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
Story Hour Welcomes Carla July 9
Bring the kids to see author/illustrator Carla Marrero as she shares her well-known stories of her cats' adventures. Several stories will be read, followed by a simple craft. Thurs. July 9 at 10:30.
Children's Felting Workshop July 11
Join the Carpenter Museum at Blanding Library on July 11 from 10:30 to noon for a hands-on family friendly workshop to learn the history and art of felting. Email Chelsea Johnston at carpentermuseum@gmail.com to register or call 508-252-3031. This is a free event for all ages (8 and up) and is sponsored by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
Spring into Summer Fun June 13
Come to the library on Sat. June 13 between 1 and 3 for some great family fun, with crafts, games (indoor and outdoor) and refreshments (allergy-friendly). Activities will be led by DRRHS students Addie, Heidi, and Bell. Fun for all ages.
Mini Big Top July 13
A circus show and workshop with Small But Mighty featuring CIrcus Celia and Little L, will be on Mon. Jun 13 at 10:30 to 11:30 with free admission. This program is funded by the Rehoboth Cultural Council, a local agency of the Mass Cultural Council.
Science Heroes: Digging It! July 20
Volunteers help us conduct exciting experiments while we celebrate all the scientists who work with dirt! Fun and exciting science experiments for the whole family on July 20 at 11. Sponsored by the Friends of the Blanding Library.
Kid's Coloring Books Concert July 21
Bring the little ones to the library on July 21 at 10:30 for a half-hour concert of kids' music with Sarah Martin, Nashville recording artist and local author. Sarah will present her book and songs, then kids will have an opportunity to strum her guitar, take pictures and purchase their own Rainbow Workshop Song coloring books. Siblings may attend.
Story Hours
Tot Time with Miss Joyce for children under 3 is on Tuesdays at 10:30 and Story Hours with Miss Cathy for children ages 3 and up is on Thursdays at 10:30. Siblings are welcome to both groups.

The Blanding Public Library, at 124 Bay State Rd., Rehoboth is open Monday through Thursday from 10 to 8, and on Friday and Saturdays from 10 to 4. Closed Sundays and holidays, including Friday June 19 for Juneteenth and on Saturday July 4.
