APPLE DAYS: Hornbine School is delighted to announce the return of “Apple Days”! Join us for this family‑friendly fall celebration at our final open house of the season on Sunday, October 4th. Enjoy classic autumn fun—activities and games, fresh cider and donuts, and a lively yard sale. If you’d like to set up your own table at the yard sale, we ask for a $5 donation; please email us at hornbineschool@gmail.com to reserve your spot. The event is free to attend, though a $5 per‑family donation is appreciated to help support Hornbine School’s programs.

HORNBINE SCHOOL ANNUAL NEWSLETTER: We’re proud to share our annual Hornbine School newsletter, available now at the Rehoboth Town Library and the Hornbine School. Come pick one up and see what’s new!

VOLUNTEERS: The ongoing success of Hornbine School Museum depends on the generosity and efforts of a number of volunteers. If you enjoy history and teaching, consider emailing us at hornbineschool@gmail.com to learn how you can join our team as a docent or classroom teacher.

SPECIAL THANKS: This year we are delighted to welcome and appreciate our new outstanding docents: John Carr, Kathryn Fragomeni, (long-time Hornbine teacher) Beverly Petine and Barbara Barnes as well as our creative schoolmaster, Richard Wheeler and our dedicated schoolmarm Jann McMurry. Special thanks as well to Dave Downs, Cathy Potter and Dawn Houlker-Azar and the Rehoboth Cultural Preservation Commission. Thanks to town workers, Laura Schwall, Rob Johnson, Mike Pierce, Arthur Pierce and Lenny Mills for aid with old tree removal, groundskeeping, new storage and AC for Hornbine School. We also thank Paula Janson, our treasurer, who handles our finances and Annemarie Pavao for putting out our sign for open houses for many years.

VISIT HORNBINE SCHOOL MUSEUM on August 9th and 23rd to explore our special exhibit, “The 3 R’s: Road to Revolution in Rehoboth.” Discover local connections to key Revolutionary War figures, examine Colonial Currency, and enjoy a pictorial alphabet of Colonial America. Try your hand at signing our Declaration of Independence with a feather pen (see photo), join in scavenger hunts for young visitors, and play our classic Old‑Fashioned Yard Games. The museum will be open from 2–4 PM on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of August, and September.
