From the Family of Dr. Ramos

Posted

Dear East Providence Community:

On behalf of the family of the late Dr. Isadore “Izzy” Ramos, we send our heartfelt appreciation for all the love and sympathy expressed to the Ramos family during our recent loss.  It was so touching to hear from the many former students, friends and officials throughout East Providence and Rhode Island concerning the impact Izzy had on so many.  Our family could not have persevered through this emotional time without your help and support.

We thank the many state and local officials who honored the life of our father, grandfather and brother.  Thank you to Governor McKee, Mayor DaSilva, other state and city officials, medical personnel, police, fire, Perry-McStay staff and all who joined in honoring Izzy.  The honor guard at the funeral was overwhelming.

We thank East Providence High School for their love and support as Izzy was such a proud graduate and EPHS Hall of Fame member.  Most of all we were honored by the outpouring of love we received from Izzy’s many friends and colleagues from so many walks of life.  And, of course, we felt the admiration for Izzy from his loving Cape Verdean community.  We are buoyed by the fact that his legacy will live on for a long time on so many fronts.

Finally, our deep appreciation to Izzy’s long time “best friend” Bob Rodericks and his family for their support and presence during Izzy’s last days.  Our two families will be forever linked in tradition, love and admiration.

We apologize if we forgot to acknowledge anyone.  Thank you beyond words, East Providence.

Sincerely,
The children, grandchildren and siblings of Dr. Izzy Ramos
