Frank R. "Rick" Giordano

Frank R. "Rick" Giordano, 67, of East Providence, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Miriam Hospital. He was the fiancé of Florence Alves.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Frank and Alveda (Freitas) Giordano. Rick grew up on Woodland Avenue and has maintained a lifelong friendship with John Arruda. They were inseparable while growing up together in the neighborhood. Rick was a driver for Town Fair Tire in Seekonk for twenty years before he retired.

He was a die-hard baseball fan and followed the PawSox religiously until they moved to Worcester. He was a lifelong fan of the Red Sox, the Bruins and the Patriots. He was also a regular contributor to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.

Some of Rick's hobbies included collecting record albums and CD'S, going to concerts, building computers and camping. He was a member of the East Providence Historical Society and was a history buff.

Rick's greatest love was the beach. His favorite place was Salisbury Beach. He always found it to be a calm and relaxing place with many pleasant memories.

Besides his fiancé, he leaves two children, Jessica Giordano and her husband Nelson and Frank Giordano and his partner, Caitlyn Byron, two grandchildren, Nicholas and Emily Giordano, one sister, Allison Giordano, two brothers, Gary and Pat Girodano and Florence's children, Alisa Alves and family, Kendra Bean and family and Nate Alves and family.

His funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday, 4-8 PM.
