I am writing as a concerned East Providence resident regarding the condition of Crescent Park Beach.
I have lived on the bay and have enjoyed walking and spending time at Crescent Park Beach for the past four years. This is now my fifth summer, and I have become increasingly concerned about the lack of maintenance and monitoring at the beach.
Too often I find trash left behind, broken glass in the sand, abandoned chairs and other items, and evidence of fires that have been built on the beach. These conditions are not only unsightly but also dangerous to children, families, pets, and the wildlife that call this area home.
Crescent Park Beach is one of East Providence's most beautiful natural resources. It deserves better care and protection. I respectfully ask that the city consider increasing regular cleanup efforts, improving monitoring and enforcement, and taking additional steps to discourage littering and unauthorized fires.
Keeping the beach clean and safe benefits everyone who enjoys this special place and helps preserve it for future generations.
Thank you for your time, your service to our community, and your consideration of this request. I appreciate all that you and the Parks & Recreation Department do for our city and hope this concern can be addressed.
Respectfully,
Charmane DiNardi
East Providence Resident
