Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School hosted the second annual Classic Car Show on October 24. The proceeds from the event, which also featured food and music, will be used for the Career and Technical Education program at the high school.
“I’m so proud of (Career and Technical Education Director) Mike Strojny and grateful to all of our volunteers and staff members who helped make the car show a success,” Superintendent Bill Runey said Sunday. “Events like this bring our two communities together, welcome people into our schools, and showcase the pride we have in Dighton-Rehoboth. That community connection is at the heart of our DRiving Toward 2030 strategic plan. Raising money is a wonderful accomplishment, but the relationships built along the way are just as meaningful. Thank you to everyone who came out to support the event. Together, we are DR.”
Strojny reported over $6000 in proceeds.
“Also we had over 200 vehicles,” Strojny said. “Our Carpentry and Advanced Manufacturing students designed and created 200 dash plaques and built 25 runner up plaques, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd place top choice trophies. It was a great day.”
