Born on August 10, 1923, in Providence, Rhode Island to parents Margaret M & Alfred S. DiGrado, and grew up in a large family of seven children.

Rita was the mother of the late Z. Blais Krupowicz, Rita Jean “Bunny” Bellenoit, and Kathryn M. Krupowicz.

She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Zygmunt “Ziggy” A. Krupowicz, whom she met at the young age of fourteen, while swimming together at the Boys and Girls Club. They shared a life and raised a beautiful family together until Ziggy’s passing in 2016.

Rita was an eloquent poet, lover of the arts and classical music. She found inspiration and peace living close to her beloved ocean along the New England coastline. She worked for many years in the Seekonk public school system, devoting her time to countless children and bringing joy to all.
