Rehoboth

Town Administrator Contract

Posted

Town Administrator Sue Pimental has signed a three-year contract with the Town of Rehoboth.  Pimental, who had served as the Director of Finance and Compliance, was appointed last month by the Board of Selectmen.

Pimental will be paid an annual salary of $160,000. On July 1, 2027, Pimental’s base salary will be increased by 2.5 percent. This will be implemented on July 1, 2028, as well. As the town’s designated Hearing Officer, Pimental will receive a stipend of $2500.

Pimental will work with the Board of Selectmen on establishing goals and objectives. The Board will then conduct an annual evaluation of Pimental’s job performance.

In addition, Pimental will receive 25 business days of paid vacation a year.

“If the Town terminates the Town Administrator other than for cause, without a hearing, or requests that she resign prior to the expiration of the terms of this agreement, the Town agrees that it shall pay to the Town Administrator a pro-rated lump sum cash payment equal to six months salary, plus any other accrued benefits to which she may be entitled by this law or agreement.”

Under the General Provisions of the contract, the Town Administrator does not need to be a resident of Rehoboth.

Pimental had previously served as the Director of Finance and Compliance. The Board decided last February to combine that position with the Town Administrator.
