Opening Reception: Saturday September 10, 1-7 pm
Gallery Night: Thursday, September 8, 5-8 pm

“Three Generations” opens on Saturday, September 3, 2022. The Opening Reception will be on Saturday, September 10, from 1-7 pm with refreshments, music and artist interactions.

Exhibiting artist and DeBlois Member, Ron Caplain will be featured along with his son, Bruce and his grandson, Jacob, thus the title for the show!

Ron’s photography always intrigues, capturing his humanity through endless experimentation. According to Ron,“these pictures were all done with a broken down mannequin that I purchased at the Brimfield Fair- I was interested in the surrealism and ambiguity that they all expressed. Some of these images were infrared which in the black and white gave them a less real feeling. Zelda - my mannequin’s name has provoked much thought for me as I am always thinking of where I can take her.”

The photos of Bruce Caplain are a feast for the eyes. Bruce states,” I love the outdoors for so many reasons and always love everything nature has to offer whether it be the broad sweeping and varying landscapes or the small, nuanced colors and textures.”

Jacob Caplain’s captivating images he says are “mostly of nature. In my eyes, exploring the outdoors and seeing it through the lens of my camera are one and the same. Some of my work is from my home, New York City. I strenuously avoid photographing people in the city. Capturing it as a place that is part of nature makes it more grand and majestic to me.”

The show continues at the gallery on 134 Aquidneck Ave. in Middletown through September 25. Gallery Hours; Wednesday- Sunday, 1-5 PM. Free admission. All are welcome. Ample, free parking. www.debloisgallery.com ~ (401) 847-9977 ~ debloisgallery@gmail.com ~ www.facebook.com/debloisgallery1 ~ www.instagram.com/debloisgallery/
