Providence, Rhode Island — The Wheeler School is proud to share that Anna Cherepowich of Rehoboth was one of the school’s 99 graduates at its 137th Commencement on June 12.
While at Wheeler, Anna was a founding member of the Upper School Rock Band, she was part of the Environmental Action Club and Envirothon academic team, and she captained the Varsity Softball team, for which she played catcher all four of her Upper School years. She also served as an AP Environmental Science Mentor and as a student ambassador with the Enrollment Office.
This spring, Anna was the distinguished recipient of the Elizabeth Gao ’11 Memorial Science Department Award, which is bestowed annually by Wheeler’s Science faculty.
Anna, who is the daughter of Kate and Joe Cherepowich, will attend the University of Miami, where she was selected for the Isaac Bashevis Singer Scholarship, one of the highest academic honors granted to incoming students. She will double major in Scientific Illustration and Oceanography at UM’s Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science.
