Loretta Veader, 87, of Trinity, Florida and formerly of Arcade Avenue, Seekonk passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026. She was the wife of the late Richard J. Veader to whom she was married for 60 years.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Frank P. and Olive (Santos) Sousa. Mrs. Veader was a clerk in Seekonk Town Hall for many years before she retired. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
She leaves three daughters, Lou-Anne J. Packard, Pamela J. Monroe and Kimberly A. Costa all of Florida, two sisters, Patricia Perry and Roxanne Sousa, five grandchildren, Amy Ramsey, Robert Thurber, III., Joshua Costa, Brittany Packard and Chase Costa, seven great grandchildren, Isla, Wyatt and Brodey Ramsey, Michael and Joy Thurber, Isabella and Gulianna Costa and several nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Michaela Packard and sister of the late Shirley Richmond.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Taunton Avenue, Seekonk. Burial will be in Seekonk Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 PM.
