The Maryada Family Foundation is pleased to announce that Le Kim Khanh Nguyen (“Kim”), a graduating senior at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School, has been selected as a recipient of the 2026 Maryada Award. The award recognizes students who have demonstrated significant academic improvement, perseverance, and commitment to personal growth. Recipients are nominated by teachers and guidance counselors for overcoming challenges and striving for excellence.
Kim's journey is a remarkable example of determination and resilience. Arriving in the United States from Vietnam as a freshman, she faced the challenge of adapting to a new country, culture, and language while building a life in an unfamiliar community. Through hard work and dedication, she maintained Honor Roll status throughout high school and will graduate with honors. Kim has been accepted to Rhode Island College, where she plans to continue her education and pursue her future goals.
The award ceremony took place on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 6 PM at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School. Dr. Shuowei Cai, a representative of the Maryada Family Foundation, presented the award to Miss Nguyen. “Kim's accomplishments reflect the values that the Maryada Award seeks to recognize,” said Dr. Bal Ram Singh, President of the Maryada Family Foundation. “Her perseverance, dedication, and positive attitude have enabled her to overcome significant obstacles and achieve academic success.” As a Maryada Award recipient, Kim received a $500 scholarship and a commemorative trophy. Founded in 2014, the Maryada Family Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting science, education, and community enrichment.
