Dighton-Rehoboth Schools Reopen in September

The first day of classes for the students of the Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District will be Wednesday, September 2.

Staff members will be returning on August 31.

“Our kindergarten and preschool students have slightly different start schedules as they transition into the new year,” said Superintendent Bill Runey.

“We do have some new faces joining the DR team this year, including new educators across our schools as well as some changes within our leadership team,” Runey continued. “At the high school, we have a new Assistant Principal, along with staff additions connected to the continued growth of our Career and Technical Education programming.”

“We are beginning the student phase of our Apple initiative with MacBooks at DRRHS and continuing to expand the pathways available to students through Early College, our developing Medical Assisting pathway, and our new Culinary Arts and Criminal Justice/Public Safety CTE programs following the District's $1.5 million state expansion grant.”

Runey is excited about another major change.

“Families will also see our new districtwide Green and Gold Falcon identity taking shape across all five schools. For the first time, our students from preschool through graduation will share one unified identity as Falcons. It is about much more than logos and colors; it is about building connection, pride, and a stronger sense that regardless of which school our students attend, we are all part of DR and we are all Falcons now.”

Runey is optimistic about the new school year.

“In addition to expanding opportunities for students, we have seen continued improvement in student outcomes, and our focus this year is on building upon that progress while maintaining the positive culture and sense of pride that has developed across the District. Ultimately, we want our students to have more opportunities, stronger outcomes, and more reasons to be excited about being part of Dighton-Rehoboth. We're looking forward to welcoming everyone back and continuing that work in 2026-27.”
