18 year Rehoboth Resident Publishing Mystery Novel

Posted

Kendra Hoey (Hawes) recently published her debut mystery novel called "The Panhandle Predicament". She grew up in Rehoboth, graduated from D-R High School and still has current family ties to Rehoboth. After raising three kids and juggling a full-time career, she left the corporate world in 2021 and moved to Florida. She quickly developed an immediate connection to the Scenic Highway 30A community, which unconditionally promotes entrepreneurial pursuits and artist creativity. Inspired by local southern authors and her own lifetime of fiction consumption, she was unexpectedly inspired to write my debut novel, using the charm and uniqueness of my small beach town as the backdrop for mystery.

Kendra wrote The Panhandle Predicament to explore one woman’s drive to achieve a lifelong dream of solving a mystery, while at the same time struggling with her own inner demons. In the process, she hopes that she has created a story that both conveys the breathtaking beauty and serenity of the Florida Panhandle while providing readers with an engaging mystery. For those who already love 30A, you will recognize many restaurants, state parks and community organizations. For those who have not yet ventured to the Panhandle, she hopes she sparked your curiosity.
