Native Voices - An Hour with Members of the Seaconke Wampanoag Tribe

Join us at the Carpenter Museum (4 Locust Ave.) for a free program with Seaconke Wampanoag Tribe members Kristine Sky Wind Thomas-Jones, DC, PhD and Jennifer Rawlings, Esq. as they introduce their cultural heritage and tribal history. The event is Thursday December 21st at 2PM.

Please join us for this very special event with Thomas-Jones and Rawlings as they discuss Native American herbs in their medicinal and ceremonial contexts, the unique health perspectives of living Native Americans, and the historical context of Anawan, the war chief for the Massasoit. They will also touch on indigenous crafts and the Algonquin language. The presentation will conclude with a Friendship Dance in which all attending are welcome to participate.

About the Carpenter Museum:

The Carpenter Museum, named in honor of major benefactors Elsie Carpenter and her son E. Winsor Carpenter, is Rehoboth’s local history museum. Our mission is to collect, document, preserve, and share material culture related to the town’s history. We connect the Rehoboth community with these artifacts and with local history in general through our exhibits and programming. The Museum provides the wider community with research support, especially in the area of genealogy, and promotes learning about American history through direct experience with objects from the past.
