William "Bill" McKiernan, age 74, of East Providence, Rhode Island passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. He was the Beloved husband and best friend of Margaret (Ferris) McKiernan.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Thomas Joseph and Gertrude (McCormick) McKiernan.
William worked in sales all of his career. In retirement, Bill drove for RIPTA's R.I.D.E. program and also worked for the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home where he was affectionately known as "Billy Blue".
Bill enjoyed coaching his children in East Providence's Little League and Providence Youth Hockey. He was an avid golfer who loved watching New England Sports, spending time at the beach, and going out to lunch with Margaret. He was very devoted to his children and enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Meghan Charlotte McCarthy of North Attleboro, Michael Thomas McKiernan and his wife Molly of Richmond, RI, William Patrick McKiernan and his wife Heather of East Greenwich; siblings Thomas McKiernan, John McKiernan and his wife Nancy, and Patricia Millea; grandchildren Michaela, Liam, Jackson, James, Stella, Eamon, Delaney, and Bowen; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Daniel and Michael McKiernan.
His visitation will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Russell J Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, May 6,2025 at 10:00 am in the Hope Congregational Church, 120 Wampanoag Trl, Riverside. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
