Local Riverside Resident Honored for his Service to the Sports of Swimming and Diving by Interscholastic Leagues of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

After 38 years of officiating swim meets at high school, college, USS, and RIMA at all levels throughout New England. Mr. Pereira, long time resident of Riverside, was awarded the 2022 Swimming and Diving Official of the Year Award by Massachusetts Interscholastc Athletic Association during the MIAA Recognition Banquet in October.

Mr. Pereira has also been awarded RI Interscholastc League Joseph L. Tracey Award 2020, but no ceremony was held due to Covid.

His dedication to the sport of swimming, placing the needs of the athletes at highest priority while ensuring a well run meet, is well known by coaches throughout New England.
