Charles E. Hall, 89, of Pawtucket Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on January 7, 2025 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Dawn M. (O’Neill) Hall and the late Rita C. Viau.
Born in Riverside, a son of the late Robert D. and Ruth V. (Hewes) Hall, he was a lifelong resident of Riverside.
Mr. Hall was a member of the East Providence Police Department for 35 years before retiring as a lieutenant in 1993. After retirement, he was Head of Security for the Rhode Island Lottery for several years.
Charles was member of the Riverside American Legion Post #10 and the Rhode Island Commissioned Police Officers Association. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, genealogy and hockey.
Mr. Hall was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.
He is survived by three sons, Charles E. Hall Jr. and his wife Michelle of East Providence, David C. Hall and his wife Darlene of Riverside and Stephen J. Hall and his wife Joanne of Belton, TX; seven grandchildren; one great grandson and a sister, Natalie Clancy of Riverside. He was the brother of the late Robert Hall Jr. and Jane Kilburn.
His Funeral will be held on Thursday January 16, 2025 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
