Salvatore Ruggieri, 90, of East Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2023. Born in Cranston, in June of 1932, he was a son of the late Augustus and Ida Ruggieri. He was the brother of Anna Ruggieri of Cranston, James J. Ruggieri of Coventry, and the late Mary Pescarino Ruggieri.

He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Clark Ruggieri to whom he was married for sixty-one years.

He was a loving uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He owned and operated Sal’s Florist for several years before becoming a beloved custodian for the East Providence School District. Sal was a Veteran in the US Army, serving in Japan during the Korean War.

Sal was known to many of his childhood friends as “Cent a Piece”. He will be remembered mostly for his great sense of humor and tales of his childhood memories.

Sal had an incredible green thumb. A talented gardener, he shared his knowledge and bounty with family and friends. In his younger years, Sal was a marathon runner and enjoyed racing go-carts.

His funeral will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 9am from the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 4-8pm. Kindly omit flowers.
