Lynn Ann (Varela) Delgado of East Providence, R.I. passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023 surrounded by her loving family and close friends. She was born in Providence, R.I. to the late Mary (Rose) Varela and Joseph Varela.

Lynn was a sports enthusiast who dreamed of becoming a Roller Derby competitor. For many years she was a member of the East Providence Volleyball League, a fierce softball player and everyone’s favorite Little League coach.

Lynn was employed as Chief of Data Management at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Providence where she dedicated 45 years of service. She was a long time member of the Cape Verdean Progressive Center and served as Chairman of the Board of Governors. Lynn was very passionate about music and was always the first person on the dance floor. She had the greatest sense of humor and could make the entire room laugh endlessly with her epic story telling.

She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Niece, Cousin, Aunt and you could not find a better friend. She had a

heart of gold and took in anyone who needed help with no questions asked.

She leaves behind her forever loving husband Adrian J. Delgado, two sons, Adrian Delgado and Robert Delgado, a daughter, Sherita Delgado, a grandson Kyle Delgado, a great grandson, Harlem Delgado, her siblings, Mark Varela, Gary Varela, Maryann Fonseca, Bernadette Varela and the late Steven J. Varela, her Uncle Avelino J. Rose, loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of longtime friends! She will be eternally missed and remembered for her lively personality and incomparable sense of humor that would light up the room.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Loreto Church, Waterman Avenue. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 4-8.
