Seekonk resident Heather Wyrostek graduated from the first ever Special Olympics Rhode Island Athlete Leadership University. The graduation was held on June 8, 2024 at the Bello Center at Bryant University. Heather was among 21 other Special Olympic athletes that graduated that day. The purpose of the leadership university is to train the athletes to be certified athlete leaders.

Heather's major was called Health Messenger. She is now certified to train other athletes with information related to health.
