Elias Kaba from Seekonk demonstrated the skill that previously earned him an “A” rating, the highest national rank available from the United States Fencing Association, while competing at a regional, fencing tournament held in Suffern, NY, October 24, 2026. Elias fenced in Junior Men’s Epee, an event for athletes aged twenty years old and under. He defeated five of six opponents in the initial pool round and was listed eleventh going into the direct elimination portion of the competition. Elias received a bye for the first DE bout and proceeded victoriously through the next six rounds; four of these DE bouts were fairly effortless, with Elias winning by substantial margins. Two, however, were close enough for worry, with only a one-point difference between victory and defeat. He met his match in the semifinals, but secured a bronze medal, a noteworthy third out of 149 total fencers. Elias trains in E. Providence at the Rhode Island Fencing Academy & Club, recognized nationally by the United States Fencing Association as a Club of Excellence.
