High School Seniors Apply online now for Elks Scholarship

The 2017 Most Valuable Student scholarship contest is open to any current high school senior who is a US Citizen. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. The application is completed online and will be automatically forwarded to the Elks Lodge closest to student’s home of record. The 2017 MVS application deadline is November 30, 2016. Four Rhode Island students, 2 boys and 2 girls, will be awarded a $4000 scholarship and become eligible for one of 40 Rhode Island State Elks Association scholarships ranging in value from $800 to $1,100. LEGACY AWARDS

Legacy Awards are $4,000 scholarships for children and grandchildren of Elks members. The 2017 contest opened on September 1, 2016, and applications will be due online by February 3, 2017, at 11:59 a.m. Central Time.

Who is Eligible?

  • For the 2017 contest, any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2014, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2014, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2017. Great-grandchildren are not eligible. 
  • The applicant must be a high school senior. 
  • The applicant must apply online only. The 2017 Legacy Awards application deadline is 11:59 a.m. Central Time on Friday, February 3, 2017. 
  • If the applicant's parent and grandparent are both Elk members, the applicant must apply through the parent's Elks Lodge.
