Rehoboth to Keep Single Tax Rate

Posted

Rehoboth will be sticking with one tax rate after the Board of Assessors met with the Board of Selectmen for a classification hearing on November 6.

The town’s residential property is 92.03 percent, commercial property is 2.78 percent, industrial property is .72 percent, and personal property is 4.47 percent.

“We are not eligible for a multiple rate,” said Susan Taylor, Board of Assessors Chair. “We are required to have a single rate.”

“That’s a good thing,” said Chairman Skip Vadnais. “Because it helps everyone with protected lands.”

Taylor said once the state gathers all the data on the town’s properties, they will determine the tax rate for the town.
