Barrett, Morse Face Challenger for D-R School Committee

Incumbents Richard Barrett and Aaron Morse are facing a challenge by newcomer Robert Owens in their race for two open seats on the Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School Committee.

The town election is April 4. The deadline for candidates to return nomination papers was Tuesday.

Incumbent selectmen Leonard Mills and Robert Johnson are running unopposed. Mills and Johnson were elected to the board in June 2022 following the resignations of David Perry and James Muri.

William Cute is running unopposed for another one year term as Moderator.

Elizabeth Ruehrwein is running unopposed for a five year term on the Housing Authority.

Riccardo Binetti is running unopposed for a three year seat on the Board of Assessors.

Mills and Timothy Dorrance are running unopposed for five year seats on the Planning Board.

Other contested races include:

  • Water commissioner – Katie Eyer, Patricia Vadnais, and Mary F. Solas are vying for two three year seats
  • Park commission – Kenneth Abrams and Miranda Aguiar are vying for one five year seat
  • Constable – Russell Richmond and Garry Zimmer are vying for one three year term
