Thomas Anthony Martino Sr., 69, of East Providence, passed away peacefully with his family at his side, Monday, May 7, 2018 at the VA Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Vitoria Manuela “Vicky” (Rebelo) Martino.

Born September 19, 1948, in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Anthony and Edith (Finizia) Martino.

Mr. Martino served with the US Navy during the Vietnam War. While stationed in Lisbon, Portugal, as an Embassy Attaché, he met his wife. After returning stateside, he was a longtime East Providence businessman and also had a career with the US Postal Service where he retired as a Supervisor.

In addition to his wife of 50 years, he leaves his three children and their spouses, Mariana (Martino) Moore and her husband Kurt of Cranston, Thomas Anthony Martino Jr. and his wife Doreen Rega also of Cranston, and Dino Anthony Martino and his wife Heather of East Providence; he was the beloved “Papa” of Thomas, Michael, Cameron, Nicholas, Caleb and Charlotte; he is also survived by his devoted sisters, Lucille Galloway and Josephine Costello, both of East Providence; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Albert Martino.

His funeral will begin Friday, May 11, at 8am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Ave., East Providence. Burial with military honors will follow at the RI Veteran’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4pm until 8pm.
