Joseph J. Costa, Sr.

Joseph J. Costa, Sr., died October 21, 2017 at Waterview Villa. He was the husband of the late Genevieve (Pimental) Costa. He was born on December 25, 1928 in Valley Falls, RI.

Joseph proudly served our country with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He loved his grandchildren and spending time with his family especially when he hosted his annual July 4th parties. He was an avid Cowboys fan and walked 4 marathons.

He is survived by his sons; Joseph J. Costa, Jr and his wife Kim of Dennis Port, MA, John K. Costa and his wife Elizabeth of Riverside and Richard A. Costa and his girlfriend Kristine Despres of Riverside. He was the loving grandfather of Joseph III and his wife Cathy, Tara and her husband John, Shannon and his great grandchildren; Mikayla, Ariana, Joseph IV, Genevieve and Maria.

His funeral will begin on Thursday at 8:45am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am in St. Brendan’s Church, Turner Ave., Riverside. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hour will be on Wednesday from 5-8pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
