Vadnais Re-Elected to Board of Selectmen

Skip Vadnais won another term on the Rehoboth Board of Selectmen Tuesday.

Vadnais, who had no opposition, got 680 votes. There were 170 blank ballots and 45 write-in votes for former selectman Michael Costello. Costello served on the board from 2011 until April 2016, when he resigned for personal reasons. Costello had recently served as the town’s Highway Department Superintendent.

Turnout for the annual town election was low, with only 894, or nine percent, of the town’s 9,872 eligible voters casting ballots.

Jeffrey Kenneth Reber was elected to serve on the Dighton-Rehoboth School Committee. Reber was unopposed.

Stephen Green was elected to serve on the Board of Assessors. Green was unopposed.

Mary Solas was elected to serve on the Park Commission. Solas was unopposed.

Joseph Paul Collins defeated William Costa, Sr. for a seat on the Housing Authority. Collins had 468 votes. Costa had 346 votes.

William Cute was re-elected to serve as Moderator. Cute was unopposed.

Leonard Mills, Jr was elected to serve a one year term on the Planning Board.

Kenneth Abrams, William Dalpe, and Michael Deignan were elected to serve for 3 three year terms as Constables.

Stacy Haskell and John David Kramer were elected to serve five year seats on the Planning Board. Haskell got 554 votes, Kramer 479 votes, and Lynne Ferreira got 428 votes.

Joseph Albert Nunes and Arthur Gareau were elected to serve two three year terms on the Water Commission. Nunes got 520 votes, Gareau 421 votes, with opponents William Costa Sr. and Katy Rourke Wilson trailing with 299 and 262 votes respectively.
