Tyler P. Duggan38, of East Providence, RI, cherished partner of Jessica Bourget Duggan, passed away due to congenital heart complications on June 28, 2025, at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, with family and friends by his side. He faced his condition with strength, bravery, and love for those around him until the end.
Tyler was a 2014 graduate of Rhode Island College where he met his wife, and he received his MFA in Creative Writing from Drexel University in 2021. He was a well-informed movie buff and especially enjoyed writing movie reviews.
Tyler gave unwavering support to his family and many friends, offering empathy, kindness and encouragement. He was quick to laugh and was the ringmaster of family fun. Ty lived with intention, making every day count. He made genuine connections with others at school, work and in the community throughout his life and will be missed by so many.
Tyler was a well-loved and devoted husband, father, son, brother, cousin, uncle, nephew and friend. Born in South Kingstown he was the son of Heidi (Russell) and Paul Duggan of Saunderstown, RI. He is also survived by his beloved daughter, Nora Georgiana Duggan, his brother Thomas R. Duggan and wife Jessica of Yuma, Arizona, his sister Jane Duggan Blundo and husband Nathan of Cranston, RI, as well as many loving family members and friends.
A celebration of Tyler’s life will be held in October. At the request of the family donations can be made to the Weaver Library, 41 Grove Avenue, East Providence, RI 02914, for the Children’s Book and Activity Fund, or to the Adult Congenital Heart Association.
