Thelma Lariviere

Thelma Lariviere, 86 of Riverside, entered her eternal resting place on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. She was the wife of the late Henry A. Lariviere.

She was born in Faial, Azores a daughter of the late John P. and Maria F. (Garcia) Vargas. Mrs. Lariviere was a certified nurse’s aide and certified medical technician and had worked for Tockwotton Nursing and Rehabilitation for many years until she retired. She was an amazing cook who loved to entertain and feed her family and friends. She was a devoted Catholic, loved animals, and loved her family very much.


She leaves one daughter, Joann Draine, one son, John H. Lariviere and his wife Sue Ellen, two grandsons, Justin and Kyle Draine, two great-grandchildren, Faye and Oliver Draine, two sisters, Edwina Vargas, Dolores DePaiva as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Maria E. Lariviere and the sister of the late Frank, Manuel, and Joseph Vargas.


A memorial Mass will be celebrated onThursday, June 13, 2024, at 10:30 AM in St. Brendan's Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside. Burial will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
