Shelter in Place Ordered at Dighton-Rehoboth

Posted

Students and staff at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School were ordered to shelter in place Tuesday morning after threatening messages were discovered in one of the restrooms.

Principal John Gould sent out the following letter to parents:

Dear Dighton-Rehoboth Students and Families:

Today, Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School held a shelter-in-place. The purpose was to conduct a safety assessment in response to graffiti placed in one of our student restrooms.

The response was performed in collaboration with local law enforcement.  Dighton Police supported this effort with assistance from K-9 Units.  We thank every student and staff member for their cooperation today and every day.  The safety assessment proved that there was no threat to students or the school.

Should you have any questions or concerns please contact me directly.

A similar incident occurred at the school last March. Dighton Police determined there was no credible threat.
