Select Board Approves Pride Festival

The Select Board voted three to one Wednesday to approve the town’s first ever LGBTQ Pride Festival on June 8. The event will be held at the Newman YMCA on Taunton Avenue from 2 to 6 pm.

Chairperson Michelle Hines, Chris Zorra, and Pam Pozzi voted in favor, with Michael Healy in opposition. Justin Sullivan was absent.

The LGBTQ Pride Festival will feature food trucks, entertainers, and childrens’ activities. The organizers, Love Lives in Seekonk, have promised a family-friendly event. There will be no alcoholic beverages allowed.
