Seekonk Schools Launch Caregiver Engagement Initiative

Seekonk Public Schools has announced the launch of its new caregiver engagement initiative, “Together for Student Success,” a series of interactive sessions designed to strengthen partnerships between schools and families while addressing topics that impact student well-being and achievement.

The first session, “Protecting Children in the Digital Era,” was held on March 18 in partnership with the Children’s Advocacy Center of Bristol County. The event brought together caregivers and school staff for a discussion focused on online safety, social media awareness, and strategies for supporting children in today’s digital world.

On Wednesday, May 6, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., the district will host their next installment, a virtual session titled “Identifying Anxiety and Supporting Effective Regulation,” presented by the Massachusetts Partnership for Youth.

“We know that when schools and caregivers work together, students thrive,” said Zach Waddicor, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning. “The strong turnout and meaningful dialogue at our first session reinforced the importance of creating these opportunities for connection and shared learning.”

The district plans to continue the “Together for Student Success” series throughout the year, offering additional sessions on topics informed by caregiver feedback and evolving community needs.
