Babies & Books
Mondays, October 4, 18, 25 at 10 AM
Join Miss Sharon for a weekly storytime that includes a book or two followed by music, fingerplays, movement and yes, even bubbles! Ages birth through 2. Siblings welcome! No registration required, just drop by...and please bring something to sit on. Please bring your library card and we’ll visit the children’s room after storytime to check out some books! Held outdoors in Seekonk Meadows, weather permitting. Indoors if raining.

Toddler/Preschool Storytime
Wednesdays, October 6, 13, 20 at 2 PM
Join Miss Sandie for a weekly storytime suited for children ages 2-5. We'll be reading stories, being silly, and having a great time! Younger siblings are always welcome!
Sessions may have take home projects, crafts, or handouts. No registration required, drop by. Please bring your library card and we’ll visit the children’s room after storytime to check out some books! Storytimes will be held outdoors in the Seekonk Meadows weather permitting. Indoors if raining.

Halloween Storytime
Wednesday, October 27 at 2 PM
Join Ms Sandie AND Ms Sharon for a not so spooky Halloween storytime suited for children ages 2-5. We'll be reading stories, being silly, and having a great time! Children are invited to wear their costumes, and we'll even do a little "Trick or Treating"! Siblings welcome! We'll make every effort to remain outside, but will move the event inside should the weather not cooperate. Please bring your library card in order to borrow some great books to continue reading stories at home! Registration is required for this special Halloween storytime.

Minecraft Education Edition Club
Tuesdays, Oct 5, 12, 19, 26 at 6:30 PM
Children in grades 1 & 2 are invited to join Ms. Sandie on a 4 week long Minecraft adventure! No prior Minecraft experience necessary to participate but it is helpful! This is a live, virtual program that meets virtually via Zoom while simultaneously meeting in Minecraft. Students will need access to their own device compatible with Minecraft Education Edition. Minecraft licenses are provided to each student for the duration of the program. Note: This is a different version of Minecraft than what is commercially available.

Homeschool Parents Meet & Greet
Wednesday, October 6 at 6:30 PM
Local adults who are homeschooling are invited to a casual “meet & greet” to get to know others, ask questions and offer support to one another. There will not be a presentation- just great conversation and resource sharing. Information on library programs and services will be available. Everyone is invited to bring ideas and suggestions on how the library can help support you as you homeschool. This particular program is limited to adults. Light refreshments included. Registration is not required but is appreciated for planning purposes. Sensory Friendly Family Movie
Saturday, October 9, 11AM-1PM
The event will include sensory-friendly features such as lights up, sound down, relaxed rules, and subtitles. Everyone is invited to this all-inclusive, welcoming, movie event. The library’s calendar of events at seekonkpl.org for the exact title (but it is a new dvd release movie with LeBron James!) Please feel free to bring your own fidgets, comfort items, and snacks. Social story (with photos) available upon request, email us at childrens@seekonkpl.org  for more details. Rated PG, run time 1 hour 55 minutes.

Halloween Mask Making
Mondays October 18 & 25, 4-5:30PM
Just in time for Halloween, artist and RISD instructor Cheryl Adams joins us for a two session mask making class for children grades 1-5. Humans have been using masks for protection, storytelling, rituals, disguise, and many other practical and creative reasons for centuries! The oldest masks date back to 7000 B.C.! In this class we will explore the many uses of masks and make your own using a variety of materials. Who is your character? What is the purpose of this mask? How will it be used? Registration and a commitment to both sessions is required. Minimum 8 children needed for the program to be held.

Made By Me: Homemade Chili
Wednesday, October 20 at 5 PM
Let's make dinner! During this LIVE, 1 hour ZOOM class children ages 8 + will prepare a delicious recipe then serve it to their family for dinner! October's recipe is homemade chili- perfect for a fall night! Class will include knife skills and various cooking methods.The program will be taught by Heather Dupee, chef and owner of Made By Me Cooking School in Warren, RI.Seekonk Library will provide some of the main ingredients to be picked up in advance. A list of the items that families will need to provide is on the registration page.
The Zoom link will be emailed to participants 1 hour before the program's start time. Registration required.

Drive-Up Movie at Seekonk Library
Thursday, October 21 arrive by 6PM
Enjoy a classic, family friendly, Halloween movie right from the comfort of your car!
Load up with snacks, drinks, dinner, etc to eat in your car for a unique library experience
Costumes are encouraged! For safety, registrants stay inside their vehicles for the movie (no lawn chairs/open hatchbacks). Registration starts October 1 and is required. The library is unable to accommodate drop-ins. Registrants must be in a parking spot by 6:00 PM. Registration is limited to one car per registration and is not transferable. Parking spots are first come, first serve. Larger vehicles will be parked further back in order to allow viewing for smaller vehicles. Outdoor building lights and parking lot lights will be OFF for the duration of the movie. Register starting October 1. See website for exact title. Rated PG; 1 hour 36 minutes
