Rose A. Berry, 85, of Riverside, RI passed away peacefully on October 31, 2022.

She was the daughter of the late James and Rita (Enrichetta) DiMeglio (Vincenzo). She was born in Providence on January 8, 1937. Coincidentally, she shared the same birthdate as Elvis Presley, whom she adored.

She worked for many years as a medical secretary for several local surgeons, retiring in 2000. She loved the patients she met and her co-workers, many of whom became lifelong friends. After retirement, she cared tirelessly for her mother for 10 years, and her loving grandchildren.

Rose loved the Red Sox and enjoyed watching games with whichever grandson stopped by to watch with her. She remained a loyal fan through all of their highs and lows. She was an avid reader of both books and the daily newspaper and didn’t miss a day doing a crossword puzzle. She also enjoyed keeping up with family, friends and the Italian groups she joined on Facebook. She also tried Instagram and sent her first Snapchat just last week, all to prove you are never too old to learn.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Italian American Historical Society and the Sons of Italy - Renaissance Lodge.

She leaves behind her devoted family, daughter Dr. Kathy Peno and her husband Thomas, James Berry and his wife Teresa, Cheryl Cunha and her husband Anthony, and Raymond Berry and his wife Sandra, her grandchildren; Jennifer, Anthony G., Sam, James, Nicholas, Alison, Anthony C., William, Jocelyn, Amber and Adryanna and four great grandchildren, Magdalena, Miles, Jackson, and Aria, all of whom brought her immeasurable joy. As an only child, she was very close to her cousins Julia, Robert, Maryanne, Angela, David, Carol, and Michael.

Everyone who met her was treated to her warm smile and easy laugh and was left with the feeling they had been friends for years.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Brendan's Church, 60 Turner Avenue, Riverside. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours are Wednesday 4-7. She loved flowers, especially carnations, and they are welcome or you may send a donation in her name to the RISPCA at 186 Amaral St, Riverside, RI 02915
