Renwick B. Chapman, 78, of Rehoboth, former longtime resident of North Attleboro, also formerly of Taunton and Abington, passed away peacefully after a long and valiant battle with Parkinson's disease, on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline (Raposa) Chapman of Rehoboth.

Born in Brockton, MA on August 31, 1943, he was the loving son of the late Harold G. Chapman and Leona A. (Nash) Chapman.

Renny grew up in Abington and was a 1962 graduate of Abington High School. He went on to further his education, earning his Associate's Degree in Engineering from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1964 and later, his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering from Northeastern University in 1972.

With his knowledge and experience in the engineering field, he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War Era in the United States Navy Construction Battalion, better known as the Seabees.

Mr. Chapman was employed by The BSC Group (Boston Survey Consultants) for over forty years, retiring in 2014.

He was a longtime member and past president of the Massachusetts Jaycees, a member of the ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers), and a past vice-president of CoreNet Global's New England chapter, formerly NACORE (National Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives). He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Boy Scouts of America, the Cub Scouts of America, the Rotary Club, and the North Attleboro/Plainville Chamber of Commerce. He was active in his community in other ways as well by being involved with the Miss Massachusetts Pageant and also serving as an ambassador to the Delay the Disease program for those fighting Parkinson's Disease at the Attleboro YMCA.

In his free time, Renny loved attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events, spending time with his adoring family and was an avid golfer.

Besides his beloved wife of fifty-five years, Jacqueline, he is survived by his devoted sons: Todd M. Chapman and his wife Jennifer of Taunton; Scott D. Chapman and his wife Silvia of Taunton; Craig R. Chapman and his wife Kristie of Rehoboth; and Christopher J. Chapman and his fiancee Christine Silva of Attleboro. He leaves his cherished grandchildren: Zachary Chapman of Taunton; Hannah Chapman of Taunton; Megan Chapman of Taunton; Lauren Chapman of Rehoboth; Emma Chapman of Rehoboth; and Lindsay Chapman of Attleboro. He was the dear brother of Beverly Hall of Attleboro and her late husband Raymond. He was also the dear cousin of Merial Clark of Pembroke and her sons, Brent Anderson and Lance Anderson.

Visitation, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 4:00 - 5:30 PM in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation, beginning promptly at 5:30 PM. Interment will be held privately at a later date in the Murray Unitarian Universalist Church Memorial Garden and Columbarium in Attleboro.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Renny's name by sending a check or money order to the Attleboro Norton YMCA Delay the Disease Program, 63 North Main Street, Attleboro, MA 02703, a cause very important to Renny and dear to his heart.
