Raymond Kelly, Jr., 66, formerly of East Providence, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Raymond E. Sr. and Josephine (Sousa) Kelly. He lived in East Providence for the majority of his life.

Ray was employed by Electric Boat for many years before recently retiring. He was also the owner of the former Breakwaters Restaurant in Warren, RI.

A sports enthusiast, he was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers and Boston Celtics. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Ray. He loved nature and enjoyed spending time camping, building campfires and kayaking. He was a history buff and appreciated a good book. He had a great sense of humor and lived life to the fullest.

He is survived by his daughters Kylene M. Arredondo and Kaitlyn R. Kelly both of Riverside. He was the proud grandfather of Sophia A. Kelly, Ashton N. Arredondo, Coen C. DeGuilio, Leo C. DeGuilio and Charles A. DeGuilio. He also leaves a sister Beverly Farrell and her husband Raymond of Cumberland, his companion Margaret DeGuilio, and many beloved friends and family members.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday December 14, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. In memory of and to honor Ray’s life, contributions may be made to The Independence Fund, 8349 Arrowridge Blvd, Suite R, Charlotte, NC 28273, an organization dedicated to assisting wounded, injured, or ill Veterans.
