Portsmouth Resident Honored as A ‘Leader And Achiever’

Dr. Chris Gadbois recognized for leadership and community service

East Providence, R.I. (December 19, 2023): CareLink RI, a nonprofit healthcare network of post-acute and community-based providers serving older adults and adults with disabilities, announces Dr. Chris Gadbois, chief executive officer, has been named a 2023 Providence Business News Leaders & Achievers honoree.

The award recognizes her long-standing commitment to the business community, leadership and community service efforts, and mentorship. Dr. Gadbois was among other leaders from throughout Rhode Island who received the honor at a celebration held at the Aldrich Mansion in Warwick.

Gadbois has served as CareLink’s CEO since 2019.

“From my first experience in healthcare as a certified nursing assistant, I have always valued the partnerships that have allowed me to grow to a leadership role,” states Gadbois. “Today I have the privilege of working with many amazing partners across the state’s non-profit healthcare landscape to improve access and quality of healthcare to the underserved.”

Dr. Gadbois completed her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at Rhode Island College (2000). She holds a doctorate in nursing practice (2014) and a masters in community health nursing (2010) from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. Additionally, she holds positions as an adjunct faculty member at both Salve Regina University and Brown University. She serves on several boards including RI’s Long Term Care Coordinating Council and Behavioral Health Workgroup, RI Elder Mental Health and Addiction Coalition, the Governor’s Council on Behavioral Health, and the Executive Board for the RI Alzheimer’s State Plan. She is Immediate past president of the RI Public Health Association.
