Nuno Luis Brum Pacheco
Nuno Luis Brum Pacheco,86, of Seekonk known affectionately as Nuno to his dear friends and family, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in Seekonk, MA, joining his beloved wife Odete in eternal rest on Friday, September 13, 2024. Born on August 12, 1938, in the picturesque island of Madeira, Portugal, Nuno was a man whose loving presence and kind spirit touched all who knew him.
Nuno was the beloved husband of the late Odete (Dias) Pacheco, a cherished union that blossomed with love and companionship. The son of the late Luis and Maria (Brum) Pacheco, he carried with him the rich heritage and vibrant culture of his Portuguese roots. Nuno was the devoted father of Susan Riordan and her husband Kevin of Seekonk, and Mark Pacheco and his wife Ginny, also of Seekonk. His role as a father was one, he held with the highest regard, instilling values of love, kindness, and faith in his children.
He is survived by his siblings, Virginio "Gino" Pacheco of Warwick, Jose Pacheco of Seekonk, Teresa Amaral of Portugal, Mary Brown of Sacred Heart, Minnesota, and Helen Archibald of Riverside. Nuno's legacy continues through his adoring grandchildren, Ryan Riordan, Meredith Riordan, Sarah Riordan, Evan Pacheco, and Owen Pacheco, who will cherish the memories created with their grandfather forever. His extended family of numerous nieces and nephews also feel the profound loss of their dear uncle.
Nuno's professional life was marked by dedication and precision as he served as a draftsman for Waterman Engineering in East Providence for over four decades. His commitment to his craft was evident in the meticulous work he produced, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. After retiring, Nuno continued to apply the same level of care and attention to his personal pursuits.
A man of faith, Nuno was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Seekonk. His spiritual life was a cornerstone of his existence, providing him with strength and solace throughout his journey. Nuno's love for sports was undeniable, with a passion for soccer that was sparked by his support of Sporting F.C. He also found joy in cheering for the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots, sharing many a game with friends and family.
Those who had the pleasure of visiting Nuno's home would often find him tending to his beloved garden and grapevines, a hobby that brought him immense pleasure. The fruits of his labor were not just in the produce he cultivated but, in the beauty, and tranquility that his garden provided to all who entered it.
Above all, Nuno's greatest delight was found in the time spent with his family and grandchildren. His love was the kind that left a lasting imprint, a warm embrace that would linger long after his presence had faded. The words that best describe Nuno are loving, kind, and faith-filled. These attributes were the pillars of his life and the legacy he leaves behind.
Nuno's life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity, the strength of faith, and the enduring power of love. As we bid farewell to a soul so dearly loved, we hold tight to the memories he has gifted us, knowing that his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us in the days to come. Nuno Luis Brum Pacheco will be deeply missed, but the light of his life will forever shine in the hearts of those who loved him.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, September 19,2024 at 8:30am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Coyle Drive, Seekonk, MA. Burial will follow in the Seekonk Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 5:00pm-7:00pm in the funeral home.
