Marion A. Nelson

Marion A. Nelson, 98, of Rumford, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur E. Nelson.

Born in East Providence, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Mildred S. (Goodrich) Berwick. Mrs. Nelson was a Registered Nurse at Rhode Island Hospital before becoming a full time homemaker and mother. She was a graduate of the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing, Class of February 1946 and was a member of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II. She was a former member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, currently a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, and most recently ministered to by First Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Marion leaves four daughters, Betty J. Nelson of East Providence, Joyce A. Nelson, Marilyn J. Nelson and Nancy J. Nelson (Brad J. Dias) all of Rumford and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Earl L. Berwick, Sr and Clinton L. Berwick, and cherished aunt of the late Joan L. Nelson.

Her visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in Rumford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions to The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445 would be appreciated.
