Kathleen R. Roy, 89, of Capitol Ridge, Providence and formerly of East Providence, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at the Hope Hospice Center. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Roy.
Born in Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Murphy) Nolan. She came to the United States in 1954. Mrs. Roy worked in the school lunch program for the Providence School Department for many years before retiring. She enjoyed gardening and especially cooking for her family. She was a resident of Capitol Ridge for two years and was very happy living there.
She leaves three children, Nora Thurber, Francis X. Roy and Jeanne M. Mann, one sister, Margaret Nolan, one brother, Peter Nolan, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service and visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please have a Mass offered in her memory.
