Joan L. (Dufresne) Morrison, 92, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 8, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Home, East Greenwich with family by her side. She was the wife of the late John Burke Morrison. Born in Providence, Joan was the daughter of the late Edward F. and Alice (Dupuis) Dufresne. She was the beloved mother of Susan Morrison Whitefield (John), Hope Maguire (James), and John Burke Morrison (Deborah). Loving grandmother of Daniel J. Anthone (Heather), Jenn L. Murphy (John), Coleman J. Maguire, and Nicholas J. Morrison; Loving great-grandmother of Mosey Bee Anthone and Florie Bloom Anthone. Joan was faith filled and deeply loved. She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, adoration and endless enthusiasm for life. Her spirit, laughter and love will be greatly missed by her family, extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 11am in St. Sebastian Church, 67 Cole Ave., Providence. She will be laid to rest with her husband in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Joan’s family would like to thank St. Elizabeth’s Community for their kindness and outstanding care provided.
