Joan A. Hannon

Joan A. Hannon, 84, of Rumford and Vero Beach, Florida passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the Hattie Ide Chatffee Home. She was the wife of the late Robert F. Hannon. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Deolinda (DeMedeiros) Carvalho.

Joan was a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital for 42 years before she retired. She was a 1960 graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and a member of the Alumni Association. She was a faithful communicant of St. Margaret Church in Rumford and Holy Cross Church in Vero Beach. Joan was very active in the Vero Beach community and she enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with her family.

She leaves three children, Patricia Holzwarth and her husband Christopher, Linda Arnaud and her husband Paul and Michael Hannon and his wife Ann-Louise, six grandchildren, Sarah Grossman and her husband Stephen, Patrick Hannon, Reilly Holzwarth, Riordan Holzwarth, Spencer Arnaud and Caroline Arnaud, two great-granddaughters, Hannah Grossman and Lila Grossman and many loving nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Rosemarie "Ree" Wyllie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 24. 2024 at 10:00 AM in St. Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford. Her burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
